   Ssslhack's alignment is true neutral. He is the guardian of The Mask of Alteration. He guards it at all costs to himself seeking to destroy those who steal it. Although he is the protector of the mask he hunts his prey with intelligence and strategy.

   Ssslhack volunteered to become a lich so he may forever guard it. He created the tomb guardians to where the Mask of Alteration resides. He was once a powerful wizard with a devotion to defeat Xoth. His phylactery is one of the gems on the Mask of Alteration. Because of the mask's powerful magic, the aura of the phylactery will not be seen by detect magic although a faint trace of necromany might be detected coming from the mask (DC 25 or -20% 2E)

   Ssslhack will engage the rogues of the mask in as soon as possible attacking by night. If he fails in his first attempt he will use stealth in his next attack in a way appropriate to defeating the possesors of the stolen item. He will study the tactics they used against him and attack better prepared the following encounter even to the point of gaining magic items to aid him. If he falls in battle he can even move his life force into a dead body and continue fighting, assuming the mask is within the area. He will pursue the theives until he or they are destroyed and the mask retrieved. He will not negotiate, converse, or fell pity for those who steal the mask. To him they may agents of Xoth.
