This undead were created by Xoth himself to protect the inner sanctums of his fotress when he ruled his empire. The actual invention of the spell used to create these creatures was a strange irony.

An encounter with a minor priest which made short work of Xoth’s skeletons angering him so much he fused the priest’s bones together with one of his more sadistic spells and watched him die. As the priest was dying Xoth promised the holy man that his afterlife would be one of servitute. Xoth animated the priest’s corpse for his own use.

Xoth discovered that the animated priest was phisically tougher in certain areas, than normal skeletons, due to the fused bone that casued his death. Xoth then combined both anumate dead and his bone fusing spell to create Bone Reapers. He later improved the spell by added some protections to make the creature even tougher.

These skeletons are formed from two corpses. The bones fuse together forming a tougher, stronger skeleton, more resistant to turning. The only drawback is that 1 in 4 Bone Reapers fuse incorrectly creating deformed skeletons that are usually worthless in combat.
