I've been playing D&D on and off for 20 yrs now. What
got me back into it in 2002 with a vengance was my
then boyfriend/now Husband.
I damaged my right wrist so I rarely play MMO, PC
games or Xbox anymore so I just do table RPG -
specifically d20 based. The campaigns settings I've
recently played in include: Star Wars, Eberron,
Forgotten Realms, Witch Hunter, Spycraft, and the
recently ended Living Death.
Since so many of the campaigns I've played these last
five yrs are heroic it's almost shocking that my
favorite character is a Lawful Evil character - A
Raksasha's Tiefling! Thank god for Home Campaigns!
I'm lucky enough to game every two weeks with a great
group. That includes two other women, four very
experienced GMs including my husband (who is the best
Star WArs GM I've ever had the pleasure of playing
with and the home campaign GM has 30 yrs of D&D
experience), and a few others so that on any given
night we should have a full table of six players.
I'm a computer geek so I create my characters on my
computer and since I always keep extensive notes when
I play I type the "journal" for the home campaigns
too. We even have private Yahoo Groups for each Home
Campaign where I help maintain the game log and
folders for uploading character sheets.
We'll even play online using screenmonkey and/or AIM
when we can't meet in person.
I'm normally anti-social so gaming is something most
my co-workers would never believe I do. I also only
lurk the forums rather than register/post and keep to
the gaming groups I meet face-to-face or at the
Cons...
I almost hate to admit this but a lot of gamers scare
me and I think they do it on purpose ;-)
I do have one aspiration I have to share: I hope I'm
raising the next generation of female gamers and that
they are more social than me.
