I've been playing AD&D for a good number of years now. Let's put it this way... I'm turning 40 in a few months and I began playing when I was 8. My older brothers brought this "new" game into the house one summer and began playing with their friends. After many long hours of begging and whining, they grudgingly permitted me to play with them. I found out later they half expected me to die quickly and leave... but I turned out to be a better player than they expected, and they invited me to more and more of their games. We even managed to get my parents to play!
Like other good DM's, I now create my own campaigns in my own worlds. Both my children (along with their friends) begged to learn, and now they too create their own games. My favourite character (long since retired to "goddesshood LOL) is the typical Elven Mage... though she by no means is anything but typical!!
Thanks and I hope to hear back from you soon!
